At some point in life a man needs to realize that they are middle-aged or even at the end of middle age. Sure! I could discuss women. But for now, I am discussing Men. Why? Because I see it over and over and somehow feel relieved when I see a man who truly gets it.
There is a certain type of man out there who will never see themselves as getting old. They compare themselves to men half their age and they feel better about themselves by having a woman by their side who looks like the trophy prize. Look, I get trying to look our best but somehow these certain men want their significant other to be dolled up 24/7. They never can envision themselves aging. Much less needing someone to help them into their wheelchair, wiping food from their mouth or in many instances changing their diaper. Instead it is more of a relationship based on superficial factors.
Recently I saw a man, about 75 years old riding one of those Rascal scooters. As he drove by this attractive 30+ year-old woman, he slapped her butt and let out a cat call. The woman turned around looking mortified and began yelling at the man. She said something in the way of it being 2018 and he being a pig. She continued her brow beating as this little man puttered off on his little tractor. Sadly, many of these men never grew up and never pictured themselves sickly and alone. Bottom line is they were too busy never maturing and always looking for the next best thing. Guess what?! Age 50 arrives fast from age 45. There is only 10 years between 50-60. Before we know it we are old. If we are lucky we will live without too many health problems and if we are fortunate we will have a person who loves us unconditionally by our side. Remember, The last thing a woman needs is ol' Harry and his shifty eyeballs comparing us to the lady at the Bingo Hall!
In the future... when you are looking for Mr. Right and he is still talking about the hottie he dated 20 years earlier or mentioning how you can lose that Freshman 15 from years earlier, or critiquing your body ever so nicely! Take a long hard look at that aging man in front of you and ask yourself... Do I want to be wiping this man's a** when he gets older?
Enough said
