During the weekend, the New York City Sheriff's Office busted a swingers club in Queens. At least 80 people were found at the party. The manager of the venue was reportedly fined $1,000 for not protecting health or safety. The sex club was found in violation of several laws and health guidelines, such as being in a state-designated yellow zone and serving alcoholic drinks without a liquor license.

The sheriff's office investigated a complaint about the event. They were then able to find the club, located on 20th Avenue near 41st Street in Astoria, Queens. The backroom was lined with mattresses, and a buffet was set up for the attendees. In addition, there were boxes of condoms on display.

Deputy sheriffs were able to find three couples having sex in the small room. Another two couples were spotted having sex in the same area, and one patron was cited for disorderly conduct.

The sheriff's office broke up the party about two hours later. A photo from the Times shows beds pushed together, with a box of condoms on display. The host of the party was not wearing a mask, but was able to see several couples getting sex. A spokesperson for the sheriff's office could not be reached for comment.

According to the Times, the event turned out to be a sex party organized by a company called Caligula. It was held at a location that is listed on the company's website as a private upscale on-premise swingers club.

The city's coronavirus restrictions are in place to keep gatherings in the "yellow zone" below 25 people. The city's coronavirus rates have been increasing over the past few months, so the sheriff's office is trying to rein in behavior that could fuel a second wave of coronavirus.

The property owner and manager of the swingers club face fines for violating state health and safety laws. The sheriff's office has responded to a large party at least once every evening since August.

The sheriff's office is also focusing on the underground nightlife scene, which continues to thrive in defiance of public health regulations. The state's yellow zone extends from Astoria through much of the borough. The sheriff's office has also busted an illegal club in the Garment District.

The club in question was a self-described swingers club, but the sheriff's office says it was not an official swingers club. It was also operating in violation of the NYS Liquor Authority's special permit.

After the party was broken up, the sheriff's office searched the property and found an array of contraband, including condoms, bottles of alcohol and a buffet. They also found two organizers and a patron who were charged with multiple misdemeanors.

The sheriff's office is currently investigating a similar sex club in Manhattan's Garment District. An investigation was launched after a 311 complaint was filed about the party. The sheriff's office has also inspected large parties over the weekends.

The New York City Sheriff's Office has been swooping in on swingers clubs across the city in an effort to reduce the number of people who suffer from coronavirus. The sheriff's office has also been conducting surveillance on a party in the Garment District.
