Despite the new features and upgraded cameras, the iPhone 14 Pro's design is exactly the same as last year's model. The new model still has the same 6.1-inch OLED display and same premium stainless steel and glass construction. There are only a few minor differences, however.
The iPhone 14 Pro's main camera has a larger 48-megapixel sensor and a wider focal length. The lens itself is still 24mm in diameter. This allows more of the subject to be in the frame. The camera is also better at taking macro photos in low light. The photo is also brighter, with less image noise.
The TrueDepth camera system is built into a pill-shaped cutout on the front of the phone. This features an improved image processor and a 48-megapixel sensor. The sensor is also able to capture a 3x optical zoom.
The main camera is also available as an ultrawide camera. This feature can switch between the two modes when you're close to the subject. This is useful when you want to get closer to the subject.
The iPhone 14 Pro is compatible with the Face ID facial recognition system. This is a new feature that was introduced in 2017. The Face ID components are housed in the TrueDepth camera system.
The iPhone 14 Pro features the new Apple A16 Bionic chip. This chip is ten percent faster than the previous A15 chip. This provides faster performance and faster battery life.
The iPhone 14 Pro also features an Always On Display, which allows you to view information without having to actually turn the screen on. The pill-shaped Dynamic Island replaces the blank notch that appeared on the iPhone 13. The Dynamic Island can display album art, countdown timers, and ongoing system alerts. You can even tap and hold the Dynamic Island to open an app.
