Gilera

Founded in 1909 by Giuseppe Gilera, Gilera is a well-known Italian motorcycle manufacturer. Originally based in Arcore, Italy, Gilera has been owned by Piaggio since 1969. With a reputation for producing high-quality motorcycles with advanced technology, Gilera creates top models for both style and performance.

In the 1950s, Gilera won six 500cc World Championships and was a dominant force in Grand Prix motorcycle racing. The company also developed a wide range of four-stroke machines from 100-500cc.

Gilera's main engine was the Rondine four-cylinder, which was used in many of the machines that competed in the Grand Prix and Tourist Trophy races. In the mid-1980s, Gilera introduced a 125cc two-stroke engine with reed-valve induction. The RV125 featured an automatic power tuning system to enhance the midrange performance.

Gilera also created a sports-oriented line of scooters. In 2001, Gilera competed in the 125cc class of the World Championship. In 2008, Marco Simoncelli rode a Gilera 250cc motorcycle to win the 250cc World Championship.

Today, Gilera produces the Runner 125 and 50, both of which offer excellent performance. The Runner is one of the most popular street scooters on the market. The Runner is a great choice for riders who want a high-quality scooter at an affordable price. The Runner 125 comes with a one-year roadside assistance plan. It is recommended to use a high-temperature paint on the Runner's bodywork.

Another popular model is the Gilera DNA. The open-cradle frame gives the bike better handling, while providing more stability. The engine is available in 50, 125, and 180 cc.
