Wait. You mean actually taking a trip for a date night? Well, not necessarily, but date night can be so much more. Why not make it a weekend getaway? Now, heading down to Kemah doesn't seem all that crazy, does it?

Kemah is a Texas city that is part of a collective area of southeast Texas called Bay Area Houston. Because of its geographic location, the entirety of Bay Area Houston tends to deeply rooted in its proximity to the Texas Gulf Coast. Moreover, Kemah has really made a name for itself as a premier location, something its own tourism slogan champions: "Kemah. Houston's Favorite Bayground."

Kemah Boardwalk - The Kemah Boardwalk is the place to go because there is fun for everyone. It's like an old-fashioned date with a modern update. Your only twenty miles from downtown Houston, so you're not in the boonies. The Kemah Boardwalk has great restaurants, retail stores, and it actually hosts a number of events everyday. It's a date night one-stop shop.

Space Center Houston - Notice there's been no mention of a first date, which means you & your significant other know each other fairly well. This probably means that you've got some things in common, and if you're a space junky, you have to visit Space Center Houston. It's the Official Visitor Center of NASA Johnson Space Center, everything you'll find in the massive complex helps bring you up close to the American human space flight program.

Clear Creek Vineyards - Established a little over a decade ago, Clear Creek Vineyards has been making some standout Texas wine. Why not class up your date with a tour and a wine tasting?Be sure to ask about Clear Creek's picnic lunch option, as well as cheese boards for light snacking. Art of Coffee - This local coffee shop has been earning a reputation for good coffee and great food since it opened. It also serves as an art gallery for local artists. Their coffee is from a local brewery in Houston, and their tea is from a company located in Kemah.

Friday Night Fireworks - Technically, this could fall under the Boardwalk, but it certainly can stand on its own. Nothing is more romantic than a night under the stars, right? In fact, the only thing even more romantic is holding each other close while watching a fireworks show. The skies above Bay Area Houston are lit up on Friday nights in June & July.
