Originally known as F-Zero GC, this installment of the F-Zero series was released for the Nintendo GameCube in mid 2003. It is the fifth installment in the F-Zero series. In this game, the player takes on the role of Captain Falcon. The story follows the protagonist as he attempts to participate in the F-Zero GX Grand Prix. Throughout the race, the pilot must face many obstacles.

The game features a Story Mode, a Practice mode, and a Grand Prix. Players can customize their own vehicles and play through a variety of different tracks. It also features a Time Attack mode, which allows players to create their own races. Its mechanics are similar to those of its predecessors, but there are some differences.

The F-Zero GC version of the game was published for the Nintendo GameCube, and was developed by the Sega Amusement Vision department. The game uses arcade hardware to power its racing machines, and runs on an enhanced version of the Super Monkey Ball engine.

In F-Zero GX, the player can choose between 11 new characters. Each character has a profile and backstory, as well as a vehicle. The player can purchase additional vehicles in the F-Zero shop. Some characters also have unused test animations.

The game also features two Grand Prix tournaments. Contestants from previous Grand Prix tournaments are selected for the F-Zero GX Grand Tournament. A number of former Grand Prix champions were also chosen for the F-Zero AX tournament.
