7-Eleven - The World's Premier Convenience Store

Founded in 1927 in Dallas, 7-Eleven has become the world's premier convenience-retailing brand. The company has over 66,000 stores in 17 countries, including North America, South America, Japan, China, India, and Europe. It is a wholly owned subsidiary of Tokyo-based Seven & I Holdings Co. Ltd.

Today, 7-Eleven offers a variety of products. Customers can choose from salty snacks, sweet snacks, soda, beer, and wine. In addition, they can purchase items such as phone cards, lottery tickets, and automated money orders. In addition to these items, the company sells high-quality sandwiches, salads, protein boxes, chicken wings, and mini beef tacos. The company also sells small electronics.

In 1999, the company renamed itself 7-Eleven, Inc. After acquiring the speedee Mart convenience store chain in California, the company expanded its operations in the United States. As a result, the Speedee Mart stores became 7-11 stores.

In the 1960s, 7-Eleven opened the first 24-hour store. This location in Austin, Texas, was the first store to operate continuously from 7:00 am to 11 pm. It stayed open at night to accommodate college students.

In the early 1980s, 7-Eleven started opening stores in other countries. These stores were originally called Tote'm Stores, as customers "toted" their purchases.

In the early 2000s, the company focused on its customer service. Its executive brought back a souvenir totem pole from Alaska to place in front of its busiest store. It also began a campaign to promote its curbside grocery delivery service.
